The third day in Jordan was spent around the city of Amman. Our first stop was at the Citadel of Amman which is also known as Philadelphia. Not to be confused with the Pennsylvania Philadelphia. The one cool thing about this site was the Temple of Hercules and the fist of Hercules as well.

The next stop was at the Jabbok River. This is where Jacob from the Old Testament wrestled with an angel on the way to meet his brother Esau. It was really hot at this site and the water was disgusting so we didn't stay for long.
Jerash was our next site. And let me tell you, my class said every pun known to man about Jerash. Some of them were pretty funny I must admit. This site is one of the best-preserved Roman sites in the world. We saw the Oval Plaza, Hippodrome, South Theatre, Cardo, Hadrian's Arch, Temple of Artemis, Temple of Zeus, and the Nymphaeum.
