Last Monday night we had the opportunity to go out into the
Old City for the annual Festival of Lights.
This event happens for a week at a time during the summer here in
Jerusalem. Some of the main roads in the
Old City are lined in lights and light shows.
We normally aren’t allowed in the Old City after dark, but Brother
Jackson made an exception for us!! I
went with a few people from my FHE group.
It was very crowded but we were able to see it all. There was a fire-dancing group just outside
of Jaffa Gate that we watched for about 20 minutes when we were waiting for our
bus to pick us up. That was pretty cool
as well! The only way I could describe it is that it was like Disneyland World
of Color except without the water.
