Guatemala Day 3

Today was pretty much the same as yesterday.  We got up and on the bus by 6:30 and headed over to get some x-rays done so that when the dentists showed up at 7:30 they would have patients to work on.  It was a much more successful day than yesterday.  We saw around 140 patients and everyone really started to get into a groove.  I am really enjoying my time here.  These people come and they are just always laughing and smiling.  Some of the priesthood leaders that came through with these stakes have brought their grandchildren and children.  They are sooo adorable!  Working in x-rays, we are usually one of the first groups to kind of wind down so we get some time to goof off and play with these adorable kids.  We would blow up some of our exam gloves and they would just play with it like it was a balloon.  So cute!!
One patient that came in today was a doppelganger of Jay Leno.  Everyone noticed it too and he would just smile and laugh.  Another patient that I took x-rays on, his name was Wilson.  Wilson and I became good buddies.  His mouth was in pretty bad shape so it took us a while to get some decent x-rays done on him.  So we chatted for a minute and then sent him on his way.  I was uploading some stuff on the computer and look over and I see my Dad hanging up an IV bag and walked over to see what was going on and it was my friend Wilson.  He ended up passing out while getting some dental work.  But my Dad helped him come to and he was fine.  Wilson still needs some work done so we are hoping to see him back in the clinic sometime this next week.   One guy in the recovery room wouldn't stop asking if he could have some Taco Bell, and he would just laugh and laugh.  I think he had a little too much of that laughing gas!! Overall it has been a really great day.  We are exhausted but loving every minute of it!

Can you pick out which one looks like Jay Leno?

My first perfect x-ray! Perfect by my standards at least.

I told you we goof off.  David, an x-ray person as well, trying to do something with the glove on his head, not quite sure.  Kids, don't try this at home.
